About W.E. Willis Stores

We are proud of our history as a family owned and operated small chain of stores in upstate South Carolina. Theron Earl (T.E.) Willis opened up a supermarket in Travelers Rest, South Carolina in the 1940s. He called it T.E. Willis Grocery, and it was the first supermarket in town. T.E.’s son, Warren Earl, took over the family business in 1976 and renamed the company to W.E. Willis Stores. W.E. and his wife, Ann, grew the chain over the years and expanded to three local liquor stores and seven of the best convenience stores in upstate South Carolina.

W.E. and Ann’s daughter, Chandra Willis-Kasa, took a large role in the family business in 2019, and she is excited to continue the successful growth and excellent customer service that her father and grandfather valued. The company’s trademark “Thank You” came from T.E.’s commonly used response to visitors. W.E. Willis Convenience & Liquor Stores have served Greenville County for almost 75 years!

Community Involvement

At W.E. Willis stores, giving back to the community is instilled into our company culture. We support local churches, schools, clubs, and sports teams!

During the W.E. Willis Family Toy Drive and Christmas Dinner, we provide a Christmas dinner complete with turkey, dressing, and all the fixings for 10 area families every Christmas. We collect toys in our convenience stores from Thanksgiving to the week of Christmas. Santa delivers the toys to the families! Community volunteers delivery the dinners!

We also team up with OneBlood! OneBlood comes to one store once a month and gives our community a convenient way to give back by donating blood. These are just a few of the reasons why we pride ourselves on being the best convenience stores in upstate South Carolina!
